  LARGE TYPE BOOKS

The Large Type Book list is divided into:

Fiction (general) - 2497 books
Mysteries - 1128 books
Science Fiction - 12 books
Westerns - 314 books
Non-Fiction - 549 books

The library owns more than 4500 Large Type books including a dictionary and world atlas. The New York Times Weekly and the Reader’s Digest are also available in Large Print.

Additional resources for people with visual impairments include:

  • Books on Tape - over 1000 titles available near the Large Type books: Help is available to get tape from the Talking Books and Books Aloud programs
  • Described videos (videos with action described out loud–near Large Type books)
  • Applications for Broadcast Services for the Blind (ask staff at any desk)
  • Print magnifying machine (magnifies up to 45x, near the Large Type books)
  • Internet PC with Zoomtext Xtra (to magnify the screen) and IBM Home Page Reader (an Internet browser that will read aloud text on the screen).
  • Medical aids catalogs
